Carleton Directory

The Carleton Directory, often referred to jokingly as "StalkerNet," is a searchable database of current students, staff, and faculty at Carleton College. It is accessible only to those who are on campus or have a Carleton NetID.

Address

The directory is located at http://www.carleton.edu/campus/directory/.

Frequently Asked Questions

The directory page won't load?

Will other pages load? If not, you are probably having general connectivity issues. If so (for example, if you are reading this right now), call the SCIC at x4040, see if they can do it. If they can't, odds are the service has gone down and someone will be notified to bring it back up. If they can, have the worker help troubleshoot the problem for you.

I can't get any good information from the directory, there are only a few fiels in which to input information?

You are probably off-campus and need to click on the link on the directory page for full directory access.

I can't find a person in the directory, why not?

If a directory search fails to return the expected results, the most likely cause is that one of the fields is filled with information when it should not be. Note that the two Search buttons are equivalent. If, for example, you select Goodhue Hall for the Building field and type "Zork" for the first name, and the only Zork lives in Myers Hall, then even clicking the Search button next to the name field will not return any results. To solve this problem, click the Clear Form button at the bottom of the page and re-enter your search (or tell your friend Zork to change his name). Also, make sure your friend is enrolled and/or employed by the college and isn't off-campus. You can also try calling Directory Services at x4000. Ask them for the number for Directory Services, it never gets old.
