NetWare is a suite of protocols, applciations, and services created by Novell to facilitate the use and administration of large networks. Carleton had previously required students to use a NetWare Client to access their HOME and COLLAB folders, but this has not been the case for several years. In fact, the class of 2005 was the last to need NetWare. As such, if a user is reporting problems and has NetWare installed, it should be removed.
How can I uninstall NetWare?
- Choose Start -> Control Panel
- Go to Network Connections . It's located within Network and Internet Connections if the Control Panel is in Category mode.
- Double-click on Local Area Connection, then click on the Properties button.
- Click on "Novell Client for Windows", then click on the Uninstall button.
- Choose Start -> Settings -> Network and Dial-up Connections
- Double-click on Local Area Network, then click on the Properties button.
- Click on "Novell Client", then click the Uninstall button.
- Download and run EXE
- Follow the on-screen prompts to remove the NetWare client.
- Download and unstuff the NetWare Removal Tool
- Double click the Netware Remover application and follow the instructions to remove Netware.
