SPSS
A program for statistics
SPSS is on all lab computers.
If you are using SPSS in the CMC’s first-floor labs and get an error message saying “incompatible file type,” you’re probably using a different version of SPSS. The public computer labs are run by a different campus department than the Stats lab on the second floor of the CMC, and they don’t always have the same versions of different programs. If this is the case, you should continue to work on the file in the lab where you created it. If you have questions about SPSS in general, talk to the Math department. The SCIC does not support the second and third floor labs in the CMC and won’t really be able to help with SPSS problems. If a professor requires SPSS (or any other program) for a class, it is their responsibility to either make a prerequisite for the class or have students learn it and help them as the class progresses.
